Chick-fil-A Is Ditching a Few Menu Items for Spicy Alternatives

January 7, 2020

Chick-fil-A is doing away with some popular menu items to make room for some spicier alternatives.

In a few locations across Charlotte, North Carolina and several in Arizona, the chain will be seeing a menu change, involving the drop of a few chicken mainstays, Today reports. For starters, one of the first things to be leaving the menu will be the original Chick-n-Strips.

An Internet trolling war had Popeyes calling out Chick-fil-A for their closed-on-Sundays rule. Now, Chick-fil-A is firing back with menu items to rival Popeyes’ spicy chicken sandwich.

The franchise is gearing up to make room for Spicy Chick-n-Strips, the Grilled Spicy Deluxe Sandwich, and the Spicy Chick-n-Strips Biscuit. While these items may sound new to many customers across the country, the chicken moguls have been testing out their spicier options in southern cities since 2017.

Here are some of the other popular menu items that will be getting the boot in certain locations as of January 13: the sausage and egg biscuit, sunflower multigrain bagels, side salads, decaf coffee, and the Grilled Cool Wrap

According to the fast food chain, the changes are to elicit an experience of quality over quantity – delivering fewer, better options for consumers.

According to Today, the chain awaits customer feedback before they begin rolling out the spicy menu items in other locations nationwide.
