Chris Cornell's Country Connections

May 18, 2017

Seattle music icon, Chris Cornell, died suddently this week just hours after performing what would have been his last show. The Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman, while a rocker, had connections to our country music world.

In 2014, he performed alongside Jason Aldean at the CMT Artists of the Year event.

The following year, the Zac Brown Band released their "Jekyll + Hyde" album which featured Chris Cornell on the song "Heavy is the Head." While it wasn't sent to country radio, it did make it's way up the rock charts in 2015. Together they performed on Saturday Night Live.

Early reports say the Detroit PD is investiaged Chris Cornell's sudden death as a suicide although nothing has been confirmed yet. He was 52.
