The Average Cost of Throwing a Barbecue This Summer is $56

June 29, 2016

If you're having people over for a barbecue this weekend . . . apparently it's not going to cost as much as you might think.  And it could cost even less if you tell your useless, freeloading friends to actually bring something.

The American Farm Bureau Federation just released the results of their annual survey to figure out how much it would cost to throw a cookout for 10 people this summer.

And the total is only $56.06, or $5.61 per person.

That includes eight hot dogs and buns, eight hamburgers with buns and cheese, four pounds of pork ribs, potato salad, baked beans, chips, condiments, lemonade, chocolate milk, and watermelon.
