A Letter From Slow Joe

June 22, 2018

Hey, Slow Joe here…

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you that took the time to call, email, text or tweet your condolences this week over the loss of my father.   He passed away from a heart attack right around midnight on Saturday night, Sunday morning which happened to be Father’s day.   While it was hard news to receive on Father’s day, we found it to be a very poetic day for him to pass and it will take on a new and very special meaning for my family and I moving forward.  And while his passing was very unexpected, it wasn’t all that surprising.   His health had been in decline since having a stroke in 2009 and we all agree he was ready and is in a much better place now.   His best friend and longtime fishing buddy (and also my Godfather) passed away a couple of years after his stroke, so knowing that they’re together again pulling in marlins on the fishing boat of their dreams gives me an immeasurable amount of comfort.   Losing a parent is never easy, but it’s something almost all of us will have to go through at some point in our lives.   The overwhelming amount of love and support I received from YOU this week kept a constant smile on my face and is something I will remember for the rest of my life.   So thank you… from the bottom of my heart.   We’re all in this life together and your support was a beautiful reminder of just that.
